Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a complicated condition characterised by a short attention span, an inability to listen, fidgeting and excessive chatter. In the UK, children are diagnosed only after the corroboration of several parties, including family doctors, parents and the child's school. The most up-to-date statistics show that between three to seven percent of British children are affected (some 400,000). But there is a worrying trend toward misdiagnosis.
